Building Your First MOA Companion

MOAs are modular robotic companions in Warframe that provide utility, damage support, and unique crowd control abilities. Here is a clear, beginner-friendly guide explaining how MOA stats work and how to build your first MOA effectively using WF Tools.

1. How MOA Stats Work

MOAs have Health, Shields, and Armor as their primary stats, which determine how durable your MOA will be in missions. These stats are influenced by:

  • Core: Affects Health, Shields, and Armor values.
  • Gyro: Affects Health, Shields, and Armor values.

Additionally, the Bracket may add a polarity to one of your MOA’s mod slots, providing flexibility for your builds without costing extra Forma.

2. Understanding the Model (Head)

The Model you choose determines your MOA’s special ability and behavior type:

  • Para MOA: Good for crowd control with Whiplash Mine.
  • Oloro MOA: Utility-focused, can hack consoles automatically.
  • Nychus MOA: Focuses on close-range disarming and support.

Pick a Model based on what you need in missions—whether it’s crowd control, hacking support, or close-range defense.

3. Choosing Your First MOA Build

For your first MOA, aim for a balanced build that can survive while providing useful utility or crowd control:

  • Model: Para MOA (offers Whiplash Mine for crowd control).
  • Core: Drex Core (+15% Shields).
  • Gyro: Tazic Gyro (+5% Health, +10% Armor, -5% Shields balanced by Drex Core).
  • Bracket: Hona Bracket (Naramon polarity).

This setup will give your MOA enough survivability to stay active in most missions while providing crowd control that assists you as you progress through Star Chart missions.

4. Using the MOA Builder

Use the MOA Builder on WF Tools to simulate different part combinations, preview your MOA’s stats, and plan upgrades effectively without wasting resources. This tool will help you understand how each part impacts your MOA before committing resources to crafting.

5. Leveling and Modding Your MOA

Equip your MOA with essential mods like Enhanced Vitalityfor health or Link Health for scaling health based on your Warframe. Level your MOA in Sanctuary Onslaught or lower-level missions to unlock its precepts and improve survivability before taking it into high-level missions.

By understanding how MOA stats and parts work, you will be able to build a companion that supports your playstyle and strengthens your Warframe journey.
